Sponsored Review: Simworld

Retrofitting a genuine 737 shell was equal parts excitement and challenge. It is the Holy Grail of all simulation – getting as close to the real thing as possible – but it’s a goal not to be taken lightly. After weeks of careful planning, measuring and customizing our products to meet the demands of this specific situation we managed to prepare a “new” 737 for its maiden flight.

The interesting part is not only the build itself, but the story behind the actual fuselage. The 737 in question was originally used by Southwest Airlines. After more than 30 years of service it was flown for the final time across the ocean, only to begin yet another chapter in its life – lighting up the hearts of aviation fans in Germany, even after retirement. The journey was demanding, but the end result is something to be proud of. /
